Does Draw Tite Trailer Hitch for 2017 Chevy Malibu Replace Bumper Beam
Question:
Ive purchased hitches from you in the past and they have always worked great. I do have a question about the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu installation. It shows the factory bumper being removed and not reinstalled. Does this installation affect the crash-worthiness of the car? Even if the hitch is as strong as, or stronger than, the OEM bumper, how does the engineering of the hitch compare to the crumple zones on the OEM bumper? Thank you.

Actually the bumper beam of your 2017 Chevy Malibu gets reinstalled on top of the hitch # 36652 mounting flange so you do not lose any portion of the rear bumper when installing this hitch.
I attached a picture that shows a diagram of how the hitch installs for you to check out as well.
