How to Remove the Taillight Assembly on a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan

I have routed the wire from the battery and I cannot figure out how to remove the taillight to identify and connect to the vehicle wiring. Searched the internet no joy, just to new I guess. Can you help?? Thank You,

I do have a helpful video and explanation on how to remove the taillights on a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan but we have not had the chance to do this on a 2018 yet therefore, I would not be able to provide you with exact instructions.
As you can see in the attached video, in order to remove the taillight assembly on a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan you will need to first remove the black trim panel located beside the taillight housing in the seam where the hatch and taillight meet. You will want to use a trim panel tool like part # ALL648544 in order to reduce the chance of breaking or damaging the pins/clips. Once the trim panel is removed there will be two T25 torx screws that will need to be removed. If you do not have any torx bits then you will want to use the Feedback Sports Torx Wrench part # 301-17157. Once the torx screws are removed the taillight assembly can then be lifted off and the only other thing holding the taillight onto the vehicle is the pigtail connector for the lights.
