Extension Cable for Hopkins Rear View Camera with Backup Sensors Part # HM60195VA
Question:
I have a 20 foot camper van and the 19 ft of wiring to the monitor is about 9 feet too short. I like everything about it such as the fact it is cabled and runs off the taillight wiring, and the price is perfect. So I was wondering of I could splice the wiring between the monitor and the backup camera and add 8-9 feet of a similar gauge

Helpful Expert Reply:
I do have an option for you but there are several very thin wires in the cables on the Hopkins Rear View Camera with Backup Sensors part # HM60195VA. It would be very difficult to properly cut and spice the connections and likely void the warranty of the unit therefore, I cannot recommend you do this. Instead, I recommend adding two of the Extension Cable for Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera part # HM3100504060 to give you an additional 10' of length to plug the backup camera into the monitor.
