Replacement Storage Door Slam Latches for 2016 Gulf Breeze M-26CRB

Question:

The existing slam lock on the storage door on our camper are 4” x 3 3/4” and are rectangular shaped on the exterior side of the door and arrow head shaped on the interior side. I could not find a manufacturer name on the unit. I need two slamlocks keyed alike but cannot find similar units in your inventory. Suggestions?

I checked the NADA Guide for details on your travel trailer model RBC26. The nearest model number designation I found was the Gulf Stream Ultra Lite Series 29-foot travel trailer model M-26CRB. I reviewed this item on the Gulf Stream website but no details on the door latches is provided, which is not unusual. The available photos on their site don't show much on this item either.

Most trailer makers will use readily-available off-the-shelf components for door locks and latches but it is possible that a custom part was installed on your trailer (though I doubt this). The most common brands of slam latch used are Global Link, Fastec (FIC), Bauer and Lippert Components. Lippert most likely also made the frame on which your RV is built.

For an exact replacement you may need to contact Gulf Stream. If you provide them with your trailer's VIN they should be able to determine the exact replacement part. An alternate part may very well work just fine.

Or you might compare the dimensions of a product such as Lippert Standard Baggage Door Latch Kit # LC317649 or the keyed-alike Global Link RV Baggage Door Slam Latch # 295-000015. This part can be ordered in multiples that are keyed alike.

The outside dimensions of the latch housing are less critical than the opening size in the door when determining a suitable replacement. I went to our warehouse and measured the Global Link part. Please see the linked photo.

This mechanism will fit into door openings from 3-1/2 x 3-3/4 up to 3-3/4 x 4-1/4.
