Availability of Longer Cable for Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller

Is it possible to fabricate / purchase a longer cable? I am considering using this controller in my Freightliner M2 and for my purpose I would need at least a 48” or longer cable. Thank you for your assistance.

I spoke with my contact at Redarc regarding the Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR referenced in your question. He stated that the remote head cable is a standard RJ45 network cable, so while Redarc does not offer a longer replacement, one can be easily obtained locally up to 16 feet in length.

My contact also stated that if you plan on using a cable longer than 3 feet, he recommends clipping a ferrite bead onto the cable as close as possible to the main unit.

Redarc does not offer longer cables between the knob and the module but we've spoken with Redarc before and they have told us that you can use a standard RJ45 network cable to extend as far as needed which you'd be able to easily source…
