Installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 on a 2010 Ford F-150 with a 4-Way Flat Connector
Question:
I have a 2010 F-150 and a Prodigy P2 brake controller I want to install. My first question is, if my truck doesnt have a towing package, will it even have a plug under the dash to plug the 22292 Adapter into? The only unused plugs under my are the ones in the photos. And they dont look like they will work with the 22292. I heard the plug that the 22292 plugs into, is stored in a dummy receptacle behind the driver side change/cubby hole. See picture. Currently, there is nothing plugged into that dummy receptacle on the back of that cubby hole on my truck. Some additional pics of the trailer hitch area on my truck are attached. Im thinking they will confirm the status of the wiring situation on my truck. Just FYI, I also have the pigtail that came with my P2 controller. So...IF my truck does not have the factory plug under the dash, Im tracking that my install will go something like this...ETBC7 run to the battery and rear of the truck with my pigtail wired to the ETBC7. Does that sound correct?

From what I can tell from the pictures you sent in it does look like your 2010 Ford F-150 has the factory tow package. There is an option for the tow package to come with a 7-Way or a 4-Way (which is what it looks like you have).
Also, the "dummy" plug that you are talking about looks like it has the correct wiring needed to install part # 22292 so that you can use the Prodigy P2 # 90885 on your F-150.
To complete your towing setup so that you can utilize a 7-Way you will simply need to install the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185 for a 7-Way/4-Way and then route Deka Jacketed 2 Wire # 10-2-1 from the adapter to the wiring next to your spare. You can then use 12-10 Gauge Butt Connectors # 05732-2 to complete the installation.
Check out the installation video that I attached of this process being done to install the Prodigy P3 # 90195 to a 2009 F-150 and if anything looks different (as in no wires where they should be) just let me know and I can help you further with the installation.
