How to Install a 5-Way Trailer Connector on a 2015 Jeep Renegade

Question:

I have a 2015 jeep renagade. I need a trailer wiring harness. Problem is, my 2 trailers and my other car all use a flat 5 connector. Do yoy have a way for me to connect the jeep to my flat 5?

In order to install a 5-way trailer connector on the rear of your 2015 Jeep Renegade you will need to start with a 4-way trailer connector. For this, I recommend taking a look at the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118651 which offers a completely plug and play install that will not require you to cut or splice any circuits/wires. I have attached an installation video of this harness installed on a similar 2016 Jeep Renegade for reference.

Once you have the 4-way trailer wiring harness in place you can then use the Tow Ready 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter part # 20036 to obtain a 5-way trailer connector. This adapter only requires you to run one wire which is for the reverse light function but is very simple using the supplied quick-splice connector. You can see this installed in the sample installation video I have attached for you. Unfortunately, none of the wiring harness we have for your Jeep come with a 5-way trailer connector therefore this will be your only option.
