Recommended Suspension Enhancement and Weight Distribution System for 2016 Ford F-150
Question:
Can you also recommend a new weight distribution hitch - we have a Pro Series 49570 - for the following trailer size. We are looking at a trailer the GVWR is 9995 lbs (dry weight is 7895 lbs) with a Hitch weight of 795 lbs. Our truck is rated for 11000 lbs with 1100 lbs Hitch weight. I never like to take it to the max and always like some cushion. With that said I would probably want to look at the 1200 lb hitch with 12000 lbs tow weight, unless the manufacturer already build in a safety factor? I was looking at your site and saw the following hitch and wanted to get your thoughts? Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 12K GTW, 1.2K TW I have always heard Reese is a good quality hitch, but had never looked at one with the Sway built in. Also if you have a different recommendation please let me know. If I did not provide our truck info, here it is. 2016 F-150 Super Crew, Platinum with the short box. We have the 3.5L V6 turbo engine. We also have the towing package, backup system, trailer brake system, etc. So I would add the air bags and the hitch. Thanks again

The air springs I recommend for your 2016 Ford F-150 are the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2582. These are a confirmed fit for your truck so long as you do not have an in-bed hitch. The Ride-Rite springs are going to enhance your F-150's factory suspension and give you a smoother, more cushioned ride. I've attached a link to a video review of these air springs, as well as a link to a video showing them being installed on a '16 Ford F-150.
For weight distribution I recommend the Reese # RP66542 along with the # A-90 Hitch ball for a basic system or the Reese # RP66560 for a better system with the integrated sway control.
