Replacement Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2008 Chrysler Aspen

Question:

I have this installed on a 2008 Chrysler Aspen. It has been installed for over a year with no issues. Recently the lights were very dim on the trailer. Also the left taillamp on the vehicle would stay on even with the vehicle off and trailer unhooked. I have used the trailers on several other vehicles with no issues so it is isolated to the Aspen. I have unhooked the powered converter from the vehicle harness and the lights are back to normal. I went ahead and pulled the inline fuse until I can figure out the issue. What are your thoughts on this issue?

Sounds like you have a shorted out trailer taillight converter. Any time we see one of the pins of a connector show voltage all of the time that indicates that box has shorted out most likely due to a short on the trailers wiring. Curt harnesses like the one you have part # C55597 are notoriously easier to short out than other brands.

So what I would recommend you do is find and fix any short on your trailer's wiring and then install a # 118390 in place of it and you'll be good to go.
