For your 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 without the Mega Cab and with a 6 foot bed, I recommend the Curt Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit # C16419-204. These standard, above-bed base rails also include custom brackets that will use existing holes in your truck's frame that will minimize drilling and reduce installation time.
For a fifth wheel hitch, I recommend the Curt slider # C16541. This hitch features interlocking jaws for excellent jaw-to-king-pin contact and a 20,000 pound towing weight capacity. The slider will provide 12 inches of front to back travel to give you the needed clearance when making sharp turns.
