Recommended Trailer Hitch for Coachman Clipper Camper

Question:

Just purchased a new Coachman Clipper 17bhs. I live relatively close to the swamp and fishing holes that I would ever travel to, so I got a travel trailer small enough that I could easily pull my small 15ft fishing boat behind the camper. The Curt 13703 hitch seems to be ideal for me. But, since my unit is brand new and has a warranty, does Curt have, or does etrailer.com have any additional information pertaining to the possibility of it voiding manufacturers warranty?

The Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13703 referenced in your question is specifically designed for RVs and trailers. This hitch will work great for your Coachman Clipper as long as it has a frame width between 22 and 72 inches. This Class III trailer hitch can be bolted to the frame or welded on for a no-drill installation.

I have attached an installation video along with the written instructions that you can use for reference.

In order to determine if installing a hitch on your camper might void the manufacturer's warranty, I recommend contacting them directly with your VIN handy for specific warranty information. Whether or not it will void the warranty is dependent on the specific manufacturer and can vary depending on the model and capacity of camper.

Lastly, you will just want to check the laws where you plan on towing, as it is illegal in many areas to tow a trailer behind another trailer.
