Curt Weight Distribution System Recommendation for Forest River Surveyor
Question:
I’m looking to order the Curt weight distribution systems for my Forest River surveyor. It’s 5,800 pound and a tung wight of 780 unloaded. Which would be the better choice Curt C17500 or C17501? Also the truck receiver is 3 inch Higher than the trailer coupler. Would shank C17123 be appropriate? Thank you

Expert Reply:
Based on the weight of your trailer the Curt Tru Track part # C17500 should be the better option for a weight distribution system. This system has a tongue weight range of 800 lbs - 1,000 lbs which should be right for a trailer that weighs 5,800 lbs.
If your loaded tongue weight gets to be up over 1,000 lbs the part # C17501 though would be the better option as it has a tongue weight range of 1,00-1,500 lbs.
For a drop of 3 inches, the Curt shank part # C17123 that you mentioned can offer that and more.
