There are a few reasons why the n.c. code might be appearing on the dash of your Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160.
The n.c. code will display if there is no trailer connected, but could also be an indication that the vehicle or trailer connector has some corrosion or debris built up inside the pins, preventing a solid connection between the two. I recommend taking a look at both connectors to make sure they are free of any corrosion, simply cleaning out as needed.
If this does not resolve the issue, then the n.c. code might be pointing to an open circuit on the brake line. There could be an issue with the brake output circuit (blue wire) between the brake controller and 7-Way connector. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to check the circuit at different points to see if you can find any loss of signal when applying the manual override.
Lastly, I recommend taking a look at the brakes themsevles on your trailer. Make sure that the magnets are properly grounded to a clean, bare metal surface that is free of any paint, corrorsion or debris.
If you are not able to resolve the issue, please let me know and I will be happy to look into this further.
