The easiest way to determine the functions of the wires on your trailer is to test them using a circuit tester such as # PTW2992 or a meter if you have one. Connect the trailer to the tow vehicle and have someone operate the lights.
The wire with power when the brake lights or turn signal is on connects to the green wire on the new light # STL59RB. The one that has power when the vehicle headlights are on will connect to the black wire on the light. That leaves the remaining wire the ground and it will connect to the white wire on the light.
On your trailer it is likely that the white wire is ground, red is turn signal and brake light, and black is running light but you will always want to test the wires to be certain.
