Question:
I intend to install a C11117on a 2001 Cameroon base convertible. ping the exhaust and using existing holes in the frame seems simple enough. Will I need to drill anything? ?

To install the Curt light-duty Class I hitch # C11117 on your 2001 Chevy Camaro (so long as it is NOT the dual exhaust or dual-exhaust-cutout versions) some drilling will be required. The linked instructions detail the process and also list the tools you'll need. All required hardware is included with the hitch. A helpful article on hitch installation is linked for you too.
This hitch fits your Camaro convertible so long as it is NOT have the ground effects package. I confirmed with my contact at Curt.
This hitch will require a support strap # 18050 when used with any non-wheeled load such as a hitch-mount bike rack like the Swagman XTC # S64670 or a hitch-mount cargo carrier like # C18145 from Curt. Note that like all Class I hitches this one can handle the load of up to 2-bikes only.
