Installation of Curt Powered 4-Pole Wiring Harness C59236 on 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV All-Electric

Bought the recommended wiring harness and hitch for 2017 Chevy Bolt. The instructions general and specific for how to install wiring harness are far from helpful. Need further clarification or wont be able to install.

Thank you for your purchase of Draw-Tite Class I hitch # 24956 and Curt 4-pole wiring harness # C59236, both of which are confirmed fits on your 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV.

This wiring harness is a powered/hardwired type that requires a single wire to be run to the battery along with the spliced connections required for the input signals from the car. Routing of that one power wire is often the most challenging part of the installation as it can require some creativity to find a safe and reasonably well-protected path.

We have an article that covers this and it is linked for your reference. Although we do not have an install video showing your specific vehicle we do have one showing another late-model 2017 vehicle; I linked this too.

If you can tell me the specific aspects of the installation that are problematic I will be glad to assist.

My contact at Curt indicated that your car should have one of the pulse width modulation (PWM) wiring configurations described in page 2 of the instructions. Once you determine which (with the included tester) you can refer to the Wiring Installation section on page 3 for how to connect each wire.
