Recommended Load Range D Tires for Tandem Axle Trailer with GVWR of 7658 lbs
Question:
I have a travel trailer that came with 4 205/75/R14 tires, load range C, max rate rating is 1760 pounds each. The trailer has a max GVWR of 7658 pounds. The trailer tongue weight is 678 pounds. Are these tires adequate for this trailer?

It is possible that your load range C tires are adequate as each tire is different, but you may be under your GVWR as well. For instance the Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire with 14" White Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C # AM32153 we carry is rated for 1925 lbs at 60 psi and that would put the 4 tires at 7040 lbs total and under your GVWR.
I recommend the Kenda Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10235 rated for 2200 lbs at 75 psi which will put you over the threshold for your trailer capacity on your tires and also give you a max speed rating of 81 mph. They come with a 2 year warranty.
