I checked with Hollywood Racks, Yakima, and Thule and none of them have a trunk mount bike rack that will work with your 2009 BMW X3 but there are other ways to carry bikes on the vehicle including a trailer hitch mount and roof rack.

Using a hitch mount is the way I recommend because it will cost less, it is easier to load and unload bikes, and a hitch affords you other accessory options such as a cargo carrier as well as the ability to tow a trailer should the need arise.

For a trailer hitch the most popular option is Curt hitch # 13573. This is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver so there are many bike racks that will fit. If you are looking to carry 3 bikes the Malone Runway # MPG2130 is a great option. It features anti-sway cradles and an integrated cable lock. The cost of this rack and the hitch is less than the cost of the Hollywood trunk rack you initially asked about.

If you want to carry up to 4 bikes then the Curt # C18030 is a solid, no-frills basic bike rack that will get your bikes from A to B. I have linked videos on the hitch and bike racks for you.
