Availability of Trailer Wiring Kit with Side Marker Lights Included for a Trailer Under 80" Wide

Question:

Your web site states that trailer under 80 inch wide must have a marker light on the front, side of the trailer, however you sell kits that do not include the marker light. Also, your trailer rewire video does not show the marker light. Which is correct, your video or the statement of required lights?

The installation video for the Submersible, Under 80" LED Trailer Light Kit with 25' Wiring Harness # TLL9RK that you referenced (which is linked) simply shows how to install that light kit. Any other lighting requirements for that trailer would have been up to the owner to meet. Please note that an exception that we mention is that if the trailer is less than 6 feet long the front side marker lights and reflectors are not required. This could very well have been the case with the trailer in the video.

With that being said, if you own a trailer you will need to make sure that you are meeting the lighting requirements of any city or state that you are traveling through.

We do have a wiring kit that includes the side marker lights. This can be found listed as part # TL5RK on our site. The side lights are not pre-wired into the harness since there are a variety of trailer widths out there. You will just need to splice them into the wiring harness using the included quick-splice connectors or you can use Butt Connectors # DW05743-5 instead.

I have attached the installation videos for both light kits that I mentioned as well as the helpful article on trailer lights that you referenced.
