Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for 2008 VW New Beetle Convertible

Hello, which trailer wiring kit is recommended for use on a 2008 VW New Beetle Convertible . I see some are non powered and some that are powered direct from the battery. Thanks

For your 2008 VW New Beetle Convertible, I recommend the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole # C59236 as long as you do not have the Turbo model. This universal kit will include everything needed to install a 4-Way connector at the rear of your vehicle. The harness does feature a powered converter that will connect directly to the VW's battery. I recommend this harness because the powered converter will allow it to draw power from the battery and not the taillight circuits themselves. Doing this offers superior circuit protection and can isolate the vehicle wiring from any short circuits that might occur.
