Replacement Brake Controller Recommendation for Activator III Showing Voltage All the Time  

Question:

I have a act 3 controller and have replaced the 10gauge wire from trailer to plug and am showing an output of 1.6v, with truck off and no application of brakes, Im am thinking the controller has a fault?

If you can verify that the red wire of the controller does not have any voltage on it and the controller is still putting out 1.6 volts with the manual lever not slid at all then yes it is bad and needs to be replaced. You can try sliding the override lever a few times to see if that will clear out any bad contacts inside of it. Most likely it is time to replace the controller though.
