Installing 5-Way Connector on 2016 Mazda CX-9
Question:
I have your 4-pole harness and an adapter for the 5th wire. I have seen 5-pole harnesses where you dont use a special adapter. Is this now available from etrailer?

There is not a 5-Way connector available that is designed to install on your 2016 Mazda CX-9. With this in mind, the best solution is still to install a 4-Way connector with the Tekonsha # 118278 and use the Wiring Adapter # 20036, which is what it sounds like you are doing.
The harness and adapter will give you the 5-Way needed to connect to your trailer.
