Will Rock Tamers Heavy-Duty Adjustable Mud Flaps ERT00110 Fit Fastway Ball Mount FA42-00-2825
Question:
Is the shank long enough to allow a Rock Tamer to mount on it? What is distant from the center of the pin hole and the shoulder flair on the bottom of the shank? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The Rock Tamers Heavy-Duty Adjustable Mud Flap System for 2-1/2-Inch Hitches # ERT00110 requires at least 1-inch of available space on the ball mount shank. This 1-inch of clearance between the back of the ball mount face and the trailer hitch receiver opening is needed for the mounting collar which is secured with the two included bolts.
On the Fastway Flash E Series HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # FA42-00-2825 the available space on the shank from the center of the hitch pin hole is 3-inches. If you measure your hitch from the center of its hitch pin hole out to the end of the receiver tube and you have no more than 2-inches then there will be enough room to install the Rock Tamers mud flaps since there will be the needed 1-inch of space.
Please refer to the linked photo I prepares for you for an illustration of this available space.

I bought this suggested set up for my 2016 2500 HD. It was about a half-inch too short, due to the flange on the inside of the hitch. Mind you, I needed the second pinhole down due to tongue weight. If you only need the bottom four holes it will barely fit.
