Will The Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier # e98874 Fit My 2010 Ford Flex
Question:
bought it w/out towing package and recently replaced the bumper, had a 2 hitch installed and wired. I like that this unit is only 48 lbs and want to be sure it will fold up. what light kit is recommended? Does the light kit wiring plug into the standard trailer wiring receiver i just had installed? 2010 Ford Flex Thanks.

To determine if the etrailer Hitch Cargo Carrier # e98874, will fold up on your 2010 Ford Flex, you will need to take a measurement. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your hitch out to the farthest point of your rear bumper. If this measurement is less than 9-1/2 inches, the Hitch Cargo Carrier will fold up when mounted to you Ford Flex.
There is not a recommended light kit available for the etrailer Carrier. It has reflectors. Neither Reflectors nor lights are required.
If you are really set on lights, you could get the 20x48 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Folding - 500 lbs Item # 6502. You could add a light kit like # e98943-44LED. The light kit will plug into a 4-flat connector, like the Tow Ready Wiring, part # 118472. However, this carrier is smaller and only has 7-1/2 inches of clearance when folded up.
To secure the cargo carrier to your 2-inch hitch, I recommend using the Trailer Hitch Receive Lock, part # e98880.
I have linked instructions and a video review of the Draw-Tite Hitch Cargo Carrier, part # 6502. Instructions for the # e98943-44LED are also linked. Also linked is an FAQ article on hitch cargo carriers.
