I have a solution for you, but the Yakima SpareRide, part # Y02599 is not a confirmed fit for the 2002 Land Rover Freelander S.
Instead, I recommend the Thule SpareMe, part # TH963PRO . This rack has the same range of features as the SpareRide and is a confirmed fit for your vehicle. It includes an integrated rack and hitch lock, adding to the security of the rack.
I recommend adding the Swagman Frame Adapter, part # 64005 if you intend on carrying any children's, women's, step through or aggressive framed bikes, as this will allow them to ride level, reducing the risk of damage to the bike or your vehicle from sway or bounce.
