Brake Controller Recommendation for 2006 Toyota Seqouia

Question:

Ive been told by Toyota that a trailer wiring kit cost about$700 for my 2006 Toyota Sequoia. It did not come with a tow package and supposedly you cant spliceinch into the existing brake and lights without causing a failure. Do you have any insight on this? Do you have the parts I need and is there a video online of this installation? Thanks for any help!

We can help get you a brake controller setup for your 2006 Toyota Sequoia that will cost much less than what Toyota quoted you. There wouldn't be any risk of failure with this setup either when tapping into the brake lights.

You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # C59496.

From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
