Replacement 7-Way Trailer Harness and Brake Controller Installation Kit for 1979 Chevrolet Blazer
Question:
I need a new harness for my 16foot dual axle trailer with brakes. I like the 50-67-106 harness. What brake controller do you recommend for my vehicle. I have a 1979 K-5 Blazer 4x4. It has a 5.7L engine and a 3 speed with a granny. Thank you for any help you can offer.

You can use 7-way trailer-side plug # 50-67-106 to re-wire your tandem boat trailer but you may prefer the protection and convenience of using a junction box like 7-Way # v, which even includes ring terminal connectors and wire loom for making secure long-lasting splices to your existing trailer wiring. I suggest this kit as it includes all of these additional parts and actually costs LESS than part # 50-67-106.
For a trailer brake controller it is easy to suggest the super-reliable Prodigy P2 # 90885. This controller is easy to set up and it has a great reputation - just check out a few of the more than 1000 customer reviews. In your Blazer you'll also need a 4-pole harness # 118311 (unless you already have one). Last, you'll need brake controller install kit # ETBC7. This kit includes every item you need to wire the P2 and to have a fully-functioning 7-way trailer connector.
I linked a helpful article with complete installation details for the P2 and ETBC7.
