Clearing the Spare Tire on a 2009 Toyota RAV4 with a 24x60 Trailer Hitch Receiver Cargo Carrier

I would like to verify if this folding carrier would fit for a 2009 Rav4 that has a rear spare tire. + When its is folded, would it block the rear lights? Thanks

The etrailer 24x60 Cargo Carrier, part # e98874 will fit the rear of your 2009 RAV4 with spare tire. The distance from the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier is 9-1/2 inches, and this clears the RAV4's available space.

If you'd like to verify this distance and fit, you'll want to measure from the center of your receiver's hitch pin hole to the furthest point of the vehicle's spare tire. My research shows that this distance is usually about 6-7 inches.

I've included a video of this rack so you can get an idea of how it fits to the rear of a vehicle. This rack does not seem to impact the visibility of the rear lights when installed on your vehicle.
