Difference between 24940 and 24965 . 2016 Kia Optima

The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver 24940 and # 24965 both will fit 2011 to 2017 Kia Optima models. The only difference between them really is that the # 24965 will also fit 2018 Hyundai Sonata's excluding the hybrid as well where the discontinued part 24940 only fit Sonata models through 2017.
There is no difference for your 2016 Kia Optima, so I recommend the less expensive of the two.
If you will be using this hitch receiver for towing, I recommend the ball mount # 3593 along with the hitch ball # 19258 for 2 inch diameter or # 19256 for 1-7/8 inch diameter to match your trailer coupler.
For vehicle wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118453. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Kia Optima's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk, behind the driver's-side tail light. You will need to remove some interior trim or carpeting to access the harness.
This will give you a complete system for your vehicle.
