Adding a 4-Way to 7-Way Trailer Wiring Adapter to a 2011 Honda Pilot for Light Functions Only
Question:
Hi, I have a 2011 Honda pilot with the trailer receiver installed. Which trailer wiring harness is right for the vehicle? Also my trailer i tow has a 7 way connector on it but i do NOT use the electric brakes for it, i just use directionals, brake and parking lights. Which adapter should i use to go from a 4 way to a 7 way? Thanks

The Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118491, that you have referenced will fit your 2011 Honda Pilot. I have included links to the installation details and a video showing a typical installation. If you just want to use the right/left turn, brake lights, and running lights and leave all other function inactive on the trailer, you can just use Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, # 37185.
You will just plug the 4-Way, installed previously, into the back, attach the white ground wire to the vehicle frame, and mount the connector in a place of your choosing. The remaining wires can be taped up and stowed out of the way.
