Will Demco Hijacker AutoSlide Fifth Wheel Hitch Allow 2016 Ram 3500 to Make Tight Turns when Towing
Question:
I have a 2016 Ram 3500 with a 6.5foot bed without the factory fith wheel tow package. I am looking at the Demco auto slide with the under bed mout. My question is when the under bed mount is installed and the fifth wheel hitch is installed to that mount what is the distance from the cab to the center of the jaws? I want to see if I can get a full 90 degree turn with this hitch. One last question, what is the total weight of this hitch and can it be installed in pieces to lessen the burden?

The great thing about the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550037 is that it slides automatically back 14 inches as you make tight turns. Because of that it would allow your 2016 Ram to make tight turns without interference, BUT since you have the factory rail kit you would want the # DM8550035 instead with the adapter part # DM6099.
Both of these combined is 391 lbs but it is designed to be taken apart in sections to allow for an easier removal.
