Compatibility of the SportRack Downshift Bike Rack with Thru-Axle Mountain Bikes

Does this carrier support bikes with thru axles i.e. Mountain Bikes?

We do carry roof mounted bike racks that will work with thru-axle style bikes, but the SportRack Downshift Plus Roof Bike Rack will not work with thru-axle bikes.
Depending on the size of the axle, a bike rack like the RockyMounts SwitchHitter Roof Bike Rack, # RKY1270, would be the type of bike rack needed for you thru-axle bike. This RockyMounts rack will work on 12-mm or 15-mm thru axles and also 9-mm quick-release style bike forks.
The typical thru-axle sizes run 9, 12, 15, 20-mm. I have attach a link with all of the roof mounted bike carries that we carry on our site. Once you know your axle size, pick the correct size from the list at the left of the page and you then can choose from the carries that will work with your bike.
