Recommended Wiring Harness For 1986 Toyota 4Runner

Question:

I have 1986 Toyota 4runner and need to town a small travel trailer Scamp, Casita, Boler, etc. I need a wiring harness or whatever its called for my 4runner so I can run the tail lights and all that jazz on the trailer. Also, may need a hitch Hidden Hitch or like, but can pull with my bumper if need be. Which ones will I need? On your website the down menu for the year of make only goes to 88 so figured I better email. I appreciate it!

For your 1986 Toyota 4Runner, there is not a confirmed fit trailer hitch receiver. You can use a universal fit hitch, but it will require drilling into your frame. If you go this route, the Curt # C13701 may work well.

For your wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT. This will come with the wiring, connectors and the circuit tester to ensure proper connection. I've attached a video to assist in showing an installation.
