Brake Controller 6 and 4 Way Installation Kit # ETBC7 for a 1993 Ford F250
Question:
I have a 93 Ford 250 with the factory tow package brake connector. I plan in buying the quick connect that ties into the factory connection under the dash and a brake controller. I have a trailer that Im going to pick up this weekend that has a six pole. My pickup is set up with a 4 pole and 4 flat. If I get the 4 flat to 6 pole, 4 flat adapter, will this be sufficient to control the electric brakes on the trailer? I cant find too much info on the older Fords and need an idea of what I need to do. Thanks

Since you have a 4-way connector on your 1993 Ford F-250 and you need a 6-way round for the trailer I would recommend that you install a Brake Controller 6 and 4 Way Installation Kit, part # ETBC6, on your F-250. This will convert your 4-way to a 6-way and allow you to connect to the trailer you are purchasing and use a brake controller if you have one.
If you need a brake controller I would recommend a Tekonsha Brake Controller, part # 90885. I attached installation instructions for you to check out as well as an installation video for you to check out.
I also attached an FAQ article on wiring a vehicle for a brake controller from scratch for you to check out also.
