Recommended Replacement ST225/75R15 Tires for Trailer
Question:
in 2014 I purchased 4 Carlisle ST22575R15 tires, of which 2 have failed. I am in the process of replcing them with Primewell ST500 BL225/75R15 E tires. What can you tell me about this brand? Are they reliable? I will NEVER put another Carlisle on anything I own. I keep the pressures maintaines and drive within 5MPH of the max speed ratings. Thank you

We do not currently carry Primewell tires so I really cannot speak to their quality or performance. When researching the brand, I was unable to pull up very much information at all.
With that being said, if you are still looking for a replacement tire, I highly recommend considering the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # LHWL304. This is an excellent radial tire that has a maximum load of 2,830 pounds at 80 psi and a great maximum speed of 75 mph. These tires are very well built and feature a 10 ply rating.
The thing that really separates this particular tire apart is its warranty. The tire comes with a 5-year warranty and complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. This means that if your trailer has a flat tire, you can simply call the help line and a technician will come and change the flat for you. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This speaks to the confidence that Westlake has in their product and might be something that sets your mind at ease considering your recent experience.
Other than always keeping your tires inflated to the maximum psi, you should also make sure that the loaded weight of your trailer is not exceeding the combined capacity of your tires. I have attached a video demonstration on the Westlake tire, along with a couple of articles on trailer tires that you might find helpful.
