Recommended Track Roof Rack Installation on an A.R.E MX Cap on 8 Foot Truck Bed for 2 Kayaks

Question:

My ideal spacing is 72, which is greater than the longest track. I can not do two end-to-end 42inch bars because that exceeds the curved part of the cap. Can the bars be cut down and mated end-to-end, or should I consider getting two sets of 60inch and putting them side by side to get the ideal length I need. I haul 17foot and 18 foot long kayaks and I need to lift them 7+foot to load, so I need one bar right at the back of the cap, and the other forward as possible. Seems Thule and Yakima dont make anything more than 5 feet long.

For your A.R.E. MX cap, I recommend the Rhino-Rack RT-Style Roof Rack Tracks - Rivet Mount - 81" Long - Qty 2 # RRRTV208 which you can cut to length if you desire.

For your system due to the length, I recommend you go with 3 crossbars to cover that spread. To do this, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Quick Mount Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - RTC and RT Roof Rack Tracks - Qty 4 # RRRLT600 and add the Rhino-Rack Quick Mount Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - RTC and RT Roof Rack Tracks - Qty 2 # RRRLT600H. Then for the bars, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 59" Long - Qty 3 # RRVA150B-3 and add the metal lock cores # RRVA-LEC4 and # RRVA-LEC2.

For your kayak carrier, I recommend the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - Side Loading # Y04073. I recommend getting two sets to carry such large kayaks to secure them well.
