The two trailer tire sizes you referenced, ST155/80-13 and ST175/80-13, differ in both width and overall diameter. The narrower 155 tire is 155mm (6.1-inches) wide and has an overall diameter of
22.7-inches. The wider 175 tire is 175mm (6.9-inches) wide has an overall diameter of 24.1-inches.

No matter what size tire you're running ALWAYS keep the tires fully-inflated to the maximum psi pressure that is noted on the tire sidewall, run them within their rated weight capacity and within their speed rating.

The main reason for a trailer tire to fail is excess heat, and excess heat usually occurs from incorrect pressure, overloading beyond the tire weight rating or running it at speeds in excess of its specific speed rating.
