The mounting hole size for the Derale Universal Drain Plug Kit for Transmission Pan Coolers part # D13010 is 1/2" and the inlet thread size is 1/8". If you are looking to install a sending unit on an aluminum transmission pan, I recommend using the Derale 3/8" NPT Female Aluminum Weld Bung part # D98002 and having a professional certified welder tig weld the bung on for you. From here you can then use a NPT 3/8" to 5/16" reducer to work with your sending unit.
Don't forget to use Loctite Thread Sealant 545 part # LT37482 on all of your fitting for a watertight seal.
