Recommended Fastway e2 WD System for a 2007 Honda Ridgeline Pulling a 4K Trailer
Question:
I have a 2007 Honda Ridgeline. 4,000lb trailer and 450 HW which Fastway e2 do you recommend? Trunnion or round bar? Also Honda does not recommend HWD unless properly installed. How do I know properly installed?

When choosing a Weight Distribution (WD) system you will need to base it off of the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your setup. Your TTW will include the Tongue Weight (TW) of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer along with any weight behind the rear axle of your 2007 Honda Ridgeline. Keep in mind that a properly loaded trailer will have a TW that is 10-15% of the weight of the loaded trailer.
If 450 lbs is your TTW then the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0600 that you referenced is an excellent choice as it has a TW rating of 250 lbs - 600 lbs. This system doesn't come with a Hitch Ball but you can purchase one that is compatible. For a 2" Diameter Hitch Ball use part # EQ91-00-6080 and for a 2-5/16" Diameter Hitch Ball use part # EQ91-00-6100. A thin walled Socket # ALL643216 is recommended when installing the hitch ball due to the small clearance.
Most people like to use a trunnion bar since it extends straight out from the WD hitch head. The round bar system dips below the head first which can cause ground clearance issues for some people. As far as how well they operate they are pretty much the same.
I have attached a link for the installation instructions that come with the Fastway e2 # FA92-00-0600 for you to review. They are very easy to follow and give you step-by-step instructions to properly install the WD system.
