Replacing OEM Hitch Receiver on 2010 Ford Edge with Draw-Tite Max-Frame Hitch Receiver # 75992
Question:
How do I install the new Draw-Tite 2inch hitch with the old 1 1/4inch factory hitch in the way? Do I need to cut it off since it looks like it is made into the bumper? The factory hitch is actually recessed into a cut out of the bumper. I have purchased the Draw-Tite 75992 which was supposed to fit my Edge.

You will need to uninstall the factory 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receiver from your 2010 Ford Edge. If it is a bolt-on installation then you will simply need to remove the bolts and take it off. If it has been welded on, you will need to hire a professional welder to cut the welds for you before installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75992.
Once the OEM hitch receiver is out of the way you will be able to install the Draw-Tite hitch receiver.
If you let me know what you plan on using the hitch for I can make some recommendations on accessories if need be.
I have attached a video of this hitch receiver being installed on a similar 2010 Edge that you can use as a reference.
