How Do I Determine Which Hub Kit I Need for My 2009 TrailStar Boat Trailer for my 18' Grizzly Boat?
Question:
I have a TRAILSTAR trailer that came with my Grizzly 18ft boat. I want to buy hub kits but dont know if the spindle is 1 inch or 1 1/16 inch. The trailer type is U-1813 manufactured by FABRIQUE PAR TRACKER MARINE L.P. August 2009. Gross rating 1990lb max load capacity 1490lb.

The best way to determine your spindle diameter is to use a digital caliper like # PTW80157. Sadly, there is no national registry for trailers like there is for vehicles. So, unless you have the original owner's manual, the only way to determine the replacement parts you need is to remove them and get some measurements. I've attached a diagram showing exactly the measurements I will need in order to determine the correct hubs, bearings and seals you need for your 2009 TrailStar Boat Trailer for your 18' Grizzly Boat.
You may be able to read the bearing numbers printed on the outside of the bearings if you wipe off any grease or oil. If you have # L44643 bearings, then your spindle is 1". If you have # L44649 bearings, your spindle is 1-1/16". I've attached separate links to our selections of hubs with L44643 and L44649 inner and outer bearings.
