I went out to the warehouse and got one of each of the 7-Way trailer side connectors to compare to each other. There are some major differences between the two connectors.
The # A7WCB, 7-Way trailer side connector has a wire clamping mechanism that just has a clamp that wedges the wire into the connector to keep the wires from being pulled out, there is nothing at the back of the connector to prevent moisture from entering the connector. Another difference is that this connector has plastic posts between each wire terminal to keep corrosion and wire ends from being able to bridge the gap between connections.
The # PK12706, 7-Way trailer side connector has a wire clamping mechanism that has a rubber sleeve in it to help keep moisture out of the connector. This connector does not have the plastic posts between the wire terminals to prevent corrosion or wire ends from being able to bridge the gap between connections. This connector also seems to be constructed of a less brittle plastic.
In my opinion the the Pollack # PK12706 would be the connector to go with because of the rubber sleeve and the less brittle plastic construction.
