Installing T-Connector Part # C56093 on a 2011 Ford Explorer
Question:
I can remove the side trim panels with no problem. Any tips of how to remove lower trim panel and route wiring from driver side to passenger side to underneath vehicle to hitch receiver? Video or pictures would also be nice. Thanks!

The wiring will be ran from the drivers side to the passenger side under the threshold trim at the rear of the cargo area. Remove any screws or cargo tie-downs holding this piece in place. The threshold is held in place by a series of plastic clips and can be loosened from the front bottom edge and removed by GENTLY prying with a large screwdriver. Take your time here, you do not want to break any of the clips. The wiring can be zip tied to the existing wiring harness under the threshold to hold the wiring in place.
We recommend trailer wiring harness wire with the 4-pole connector on the end be kept in the cargo area of the vehicle until needed. When needed, the connector can be ran out the rear of the vehicle (keeping away from the door latching mechanism). The rear hatch will have sufficient weatherstripping to prevent the wiring from being pinched or damaged. Routing the wire in this manner will protect the connector from the elements, resulting in longer life.
If you want to run the harness through the floor of the vehicle, there should be a grommet located under the cargo floor that can provide access to the underside of the vehicle. Once the wiring is passed through, I would recommend sealing the opening with some silicone sealant like part # 0160297 to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering the passenger compartment of the vehicle. It would also be a good idea to use a mounting bracket like part # 18144.
I have provided a link to the install instructions.
