Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Installation in 2005 Toyota Tundra Limited Double Cab
Question:
Hello, I bought my truck 2005 Tundra used. It has a hitch with a 7 wire plug, however, I do not think it is factory as I cant find the plug for the controller harness under the driver side dash or anywhere. Previously towed a popup that did not need a brake controller. Want to use a Prodigy P2 for my single axle travel trailer with electric brakes only. Correct choice? Wire How? Thanks

The Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 is an excellent choice for towing a trailer with either electric drum brakes or even one with an electric-over-hydraulic actuator since this advanced unit has both capabilities.
If your 7-way is not factory installed there will not be a plug under the dash for use with quick-connect adapter # 3040-P. Sometimes this connector is taped up to other wiring, or tucked away out of sight. In any case you can still install the Prodigy using our universal install kit # ETBC7. This includes a 7-way which I suggest you use in place of the old one; keep that one as a spare.
The linked articles and video (which shows a Tundra) will illustrate the process of wiring the P2.
