Items Needed to Set Up 5th Wheel Travel Trailer and 2000 Dodge Ram Truck In Bed Wiring Connections
Question:
I just bought a vintage Argosy 26 foot travel trailer and the 7 way plug has been cut off the camper. I would like to hook it back up complete so that I can charge the camper battery while driving as well as get the trailer ights and brakes working. I will need both connectors for my 2000 Dodge 2500 diesel truck and the camper. Can you tell me what I need please?

Congratulations on the purchase of your Argosy fifth-wheel trailer. For your 2000 Dodge 2500 Diesel you will need the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug
Item # HM42137, which will plug inline with the rectangular connector that is located along the drivers side frame rail near the spare tire.
Once you have the connector installed on the truck, you can use just about any trailer side 7-Way RV connector that you like. If you have enough wire left from the original wiring that was cut off, I recommend the Pollak Black Plastic, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector, item # PK12706.
If your wiring was cut off short, I would recommend the 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector, 3-foot, item # H20042.
These items should get you going, I have included a link to our wiring page for you to review and use when hooking up the trailer wiring. You may also need a circuit tester, item # PTW2993, to help with the installation.
