Hitch Pin Access On EcoHitch Receiver For 2016 Subaru Impreza
Question:
I saw in one customer review that he cut the bumper to get to the hitch pin. I have a 2016 Subaru Impreza hatchback and like the fact that the 2 inch receiver lines up with the square cutout in the bumper. I will be carrying 2 bikes and will be taking the bike carrier on and off. I was just curious about how difficult it is to access the hitch pin. Thank you

For your 2016 Subaru Impreza hatchback, the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 306-X7211 is the only hitch receiver we carry that fits in the cutout in the bumper. I reached out to the manufacturer and this specific model has a hitch pin that is behind the bumper and accessible from underneath your vehicle. It is a tight fit to allow for that streamlined and sleek look.
If you will be towing with either trailer hitch, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118573. This harness attaches to the factory connectors behind each tail light. Then a hot lead wire is run to your car battery with the in-line fuse included in this kit. Add the fuse to this wire following the connection.
I've attached a link to your ball mount options and have attached an article to assist in choosing the correct one.
