Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2017 Honda Pilot

Question:

Do you have a hitch for the 2017 Honda Pilot that installs through the bumper? The OEM model comes with a factory trailer hitch cover that houses the harness plug and looks much nicer with the hitch installed.

We currently do not have a hitch for your 2017 Honda Pilot that installs through the bumper. We do however have a couple of hitch receivers that fit up tightly underneath the bumper. I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13146 that tucks up nicely to the bumper and has horizontal safety chain connections so there is slightly better ground clearance and a cleaner look than the etrailer # e98840.

If you will be using a hitch receiver for towing, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118760. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind an interior trim panel in your rear cargo area, on the driver's side. Once you've plugged in the connector, you will have to route the harness through the jack storage compartment to the center of your vehicle. Plug in the included 7-way socket into the tow harness, then locate the fuse box under your hood and insert the provided fuses.

For a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 7.5K - Black # BWTS10038B. This ball mount is adjustable to tow many trailers level and comes with two integrated hitch ball sizes. It has a 2 inch diameter hitch ball and a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball. Another really nice feature of this ball mount is its ability to be stored behind the shank for a clean look that gets it out of the way so you don't bump your shins when loading and unloading cargo. I've attached a couple videos to help. I recommend a locking hitch pin like # BX8858 to protect this investment.
