Compatibility Of Components When Flat Towing A Vehicle With Trailer
Question:
Im pulling a 2010 jeep jk 2 door behind my motor home. I want to pull a small single axil trailer behind my jeep while both being towed behind Moho. My question is if I install a p3 brake controller in my jeep and wire straight to battery for constant 12v wouldnt it work the electric brakes on small trailer behind jeep since the brake controller works off of inertia? Thank you hope my question makes sence. I use ready brute tow bar and mechanical braking system for my jeep behind Moho

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195 will work as you suggested when you use the # ETBC7 to install if you don't have the factory tow package or the # 5506 if you do. I reached out to Roadmaster to see if their Tow Bars or Base Plates would be a limiting factor just based on weight. As long as you are within the weight capacity of the tow bar, you technically can do this. I recommend you also check the hitch receiver rating on your motorhome for capacity.
The biggest issue if not limited by towing or weight capacity is the length of the combination of these parts for safety on the roads. I recommend checking with state laws as well as using common sense regarding safety based on your configuration.
