Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for a 2007 Acura RDX Towing an Aluminum Boat

Question:

Can you recommend a trailer hitch for 2007, Acura, RDX. I’m only towing around 700 lbs. 14 ft aluminum boat and trailer. Also, would I need wiring?

Expert Reply:

I would recommend a Class III hitch, like the Curt Class III Receiver Hitch, item # 13536, for your 2007 Acura RDX. Class III hitches offer the greatest range of accessories and options for towing and carrying items at the rear of your vehicle.

You will also need wiring to activate the tail light system on your boat trailer. The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with Upgraded Circuit Protected Modulite, item # 118500, is the correct wiring harness for your vehicle and provides protection for your vehicles sensitive circuitry, just in case there is an issue with the trailer wiring.

Some other items you may need to complete your towing setup are listed below.

Draw-Tite Ball Mount item # 2753
Pin and Clip, item # PC3
1-7/8 inch Hitch Ball, item # 19260
2 inch Hitch Ball, item # 19260
Lock for 2 Inch Hitches, item # e98880
