How to install the Adhesive Pads on the Thule QM3 Quick On Off Mounting Brackets

do the adhesive pads go on the rounded / convex or indented / concave side of the quick on off brackets?

Expert Reply:
You will need to place the adhesive pads on the plate and Quick-On/Off bracket to protect crossbar finish and provide shock dampening of the mounts. The concave, indented side of the Quick-On/Off bracket is the correct side to place the smaller pad on.
When installed the crossbar should be sandwiched between the larger and smaller pad at all 4 attachment points.
